Ilya Kokorin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Financial Law of Leiden University (the Netherlands). He studied law in Russia, Hungary and the Netherlands. In addition to his academic pursuits, he gained experience in legal practice, working at national and international law firms. Ilya’s expertise and interests lie at the intersection of financial, insolvency, and corporate law. In his articles, he has explored various issues related to group insolvencies and intra-group financial arrangements, resolution of failing banking groups, crypto-bankruptcies, and cross-border communication and cooperation in insolvency and restructuring cases. Ilya is a member of INSOL International, INSOL Europe, III NextGen, Young Researchers Group of the European Banking Institute and the Digital Assets Project at the University of Oxford. He chairs the Early Researcher Academics group (INSOL ERA) at INSOL International and coaches Leiden University teams in the Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot.
